Should I get a Maxi-Jet?
I have a round 46 gallons with 2 Angel, 7 Neon tetras, a dwarf pleco. And I have some plants, Anubias, a foam ball, and others with large leaves. I wonder if I should get a Maxi-Jet to sell any moving water. During the day, my air pump is not on, so it can connect to the Maxi-Jet. Can it help my tank anyway, and my fish like it? Too, if I get one, gallon size 46, 300, 600 or 900?
Yes, a head of power is always better than an air pump. The aim of bubbles air in a freshwater tank is to agitate the surface to exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide. A head of power will do much better, but will also add the feed water to the tank allowing the land to remain in the water column and make the filter best chance to pick it up for disposal. I look in a Hydor Koralia pump instead Maxi jet though.
