Hi, I have a 3 year-previous Australian Cattle Dog. She may be a wonderfully obedient dog, canine good citizen certified and everything. She is very obedient and smart natured to individuals, however she is terribly dominant when it involves alternative dogs. Recently I’ve got been having problems together with her snapping at different dogs if they are available up to her while she is on a leash. This can be not a drawback if I tell her to take a seat and the opposite dog stays a traditional distance away. I wrote to you some months ago and never write once more, this because I did not have any drawback with my dog until currently and this can be case of keeping the dog or giving her away.

Last week the dog (9 months currently), growled to my a pair of year old daughter and to my wife too when she tried to correct her when the action. They were watching TV and it appearance like my daughter approached her face to the dog, she has done this before without this kind of reaction and last night she pet her on her back and the dog pull her lips up like if she was prepared to bite.

She never growls to anyone and she or he is terribly friendly and some times very submissive with folks and alternative dogs.

I’m thinking that this is often something to do with my daughter’s stature, she could be a dwarf and I assume the dog looks at her as lower level as a result of she is actually smaller than the dog.

[Adam Replies] WRONG! The dog gets conditioned. Start off the collar for awhile. Doesn’t matter.

[Adam Replies] Yes, the dog does the command as a result of he’s happy and he likes it. But eventually, there will be one thing that tempts him. This can be where conditioning comes in.

Therefore, the pinch collar and the long line build my job easier, however ultimately, the dog is aware of (or he thinks a minimum of) that I’m a person of my word and once I tell him to do something: If he doesn’t do it, I’m going to create him do it. And his life can be a ton more fun if he does it willingly. Thus the dog starts to extrapolate this principle to alternative commands, too.

Hope I’m not being irritating I just like to know why sure trainers worth certain ways over others since I love competing in obedience with my dog.
